The Architecture of Safetybits OTSPM Platform
It consists of two primary components: the agent and the console.
When using the SAAS solution, only one agent needs deploying per facility.
When using On-Prem, the Safetybits Console also needs deploying.
Safetybits Agent
The agent operates within each facility, performing key tasks to ensure visibility and protection:
- Asset Discovery and Network Monitoring: It explores the facility to gather insights from both assets and network traffic.
- Policy Evaluation: The agent evaluates these insights against predefined policy rules, triggering alarms for anomalies or violations.
- Data Reporting: Insights and alarms are securely transmitted to the Safetybits Console for centralized analysis and management.
- Scalability: Multiple agents from different facilities can report to the same console, enabling a unified view of operations.
The Safetybits Agent is provided as a preconfigured network appliance. This appliance requires port mirroring from the router to capture network traffic and includes multiple network interfaces to segregate traffic between the facility and the console.
Safetybits Console
The console acts as the centralized management hub of the platform:
- User Interface: It provides an intuitive interface for administrators to monitor and manage the security posture of their facilities.
- Data Aggregation and Analysis: The console stores and aggregates data across all connected facilities, performing advanced analysis to identify trends and risks.
- Reporting: It generates compliance and security reports to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
The Safetybits Console can be deployed as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution hosted in the Safetybits cloud or installed on-premises, depending on customer requirements.
